Are you looking to further your career?
National Career Development month is upon us. This month we raise awareness of how important it is to invest in our career development.
Whether you’re a business owner wanting to take your business to the next level, currently employed and wanting to take the leap to self employment or just want to land the next promotion, self development is key to your success.
Growth
Business owners talk about growth a lot. But there’s more to it than just growing your business. For your business to be a success you need to learn to adapt to change and grow as a person. Enhancing your skills and knowledge in order to grow personally is significant regardless of your circumstance.
When you invest in yourself it will give you a great feeling of achievement and self worth. By highlighting the things you are good at and recognising the things you need to work on means you know where to begin your journey. Make a list of all the things you’d like to work on over the next few months. Put a plan in place and break down your goals into steps so the challenges are easier to overcome.
New skills
Don’t be afraid to change your career path. If you’re not passionate about what you do then think about what you’d enjoy doing and what changes you’d need to make in order to do it. It’s never too late to change your career.
If you’re employed and not getting the work life balance you long for then consider working for yourself. If you’re not sure what you’d do, make a list of all the skills you do have and put them to good use and consider courses and qualifications to back up your existing knowledge and skills.
Environment
Surround yourself with positivity. If you don’t get the support you need then it’s much harder for you to reach your career goals. Online and in person networking can really boost your confidence. Being able to talk to like minded people about your situation and have the support of people who have been in your shoes will be really useful.
We’re building a community for Virtual Assistants to cheerlead one another and come together to collaborate. Whether that be working together on projects or just sharing ideas it’s a safe place to air your thoughts and knowledge.
Learn from others
You may have the right skills and knowledge to do the job you love, but if you’re wanting to start up a business and you don’t know where to begin then ask for help! In January we’re launching a Start up programme for Virtual Assistants (VA’s). If you’ve got what it takes to be a VA but have no clue where to start, then join our waitlist to find out more.
If you’re a business owner already then investing in a business coach can turn your business around. Learning from other people’s business journeys, their failures and success can get you to where you need to be much quicker. Don’t be scared to ask for help!
